AGREEMENT ON THE SUSPENSION OF ECONOMICALLY MOTIVATED DETENTIONS, AS DEFINED BY THE ELN, DURING THE CFBNT
The Government of the Republic of Colombia and the National Liberation Army agree to the following:
Publicly announce the ELN's decision to suspend economic motivated detentions, as defined by the ELN, linked to the extension of the Bilateral, National and Temporary Ceasefire (CFBNT), which will take effect on 30 January 2024.
Jointly clarify the information shared by the parties regarding this Agreement and in accordance with paragraph 12 of the Protocol of Specific Actions, which states the following:
"[T]he National Government and the National Liberation Army - ELN, commit to:
(...) Not to omit information from the MMV when the deprivation of liberty of persons occurs during the ceasefire, which concerns one of the parties."
The suspension of economic detentions, as defined by the ELN, will be incorporated into the CFBNT's Protocol on Specific Actions, which will be extended.
